Pichwai is a devotional painting tradition from Nathdwara, Rajasthan, first made as cloth hangings behind the idol of Shrinathji, a child form of Lord Krishna. Classic designs show Shrinathji, lotus ponds, cows and gopis in rich colour.
Our handmade Pichwai paintings suit a pooja room, a mandir wall, a living room or an entrance, and make a meaningful gift for Diwali, Janmashtami or a griha pravesh. Hang them away from direct sunlight and at least a foot from diyas and incense, and dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.
